I am currently reading Shane Claiborne's book: "Becoming the answer to our prayer"
John Perkins "When you see someone who needs a handicap ramp, don't go pray for a ramp! Build them a ramp."
When we pray to God asking,"why don't you do something?" we hear gentle whisper respond, "i did do something. I made you." Prayer is important. Just as important is the call to become the answers to our prayers.
I am in deep reflection thinking about things i could have done something about but used prayer as an excuse.

Wow, it is so true that prayer can definitely be an excuse. This is definitely a good reflection for me as well. We pray for things, but do we act upon our faith? Faith without works is dead.
ReplyDeleteHmmn...interesting
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. Sometimes, we tell people we're praying for them when what they really need might be more than prayers; something practical that needs to be done.
ReplyDelete@jaycee....absolutely, i really learning alot from reading that book
ReplyDelete@harry...it is;)
@maid of Heart....i think that is why i have not really been a fan of people saying "Im praying for you"...Alot of times people just say that even if they are or are not planning on praying for you.
I believe in PRACTICAL xtainity , than the sanctimonious-holier-than-thou-attitude, portrayed by some so-called xtains!...... agreed with maid of heart.
ReplyDeleteI feel what you are saying...but I hope that this new revelation wouldn't deter you from prayer...I think its a both-and situation...If you can do something, do it and pray for them!
