1 Peter 4:1-6
Whatever comes our way, we must first be sensitive about the will of God. Suffering may be the will of God. If it is, it should be faced with the assurance that victory is sure. In today's passage, Apostle Peter told us the reason Jesus suffered. It was the will of God for Christ to undergo all those things he went through. As a result, He did not sin. Thus, anything done outside the will of God is sin. If it is the will of God to suffer for particular cause and we refuse, definitely it has become sin unto us.
The will of God will always conform to the Word of God. Jesus Christ had the choice not to die for us as revealed by Luke 12:39-46, but He allowed the will of God to prevail. Always base your decision to do or not to do something on the will of God concerning that thing. The will of God may be negative or positive, but it is the best option for you at all times. The will of God may cost you something, but God will be pleased. Nothing is acceptable to God except what you do in His will. Always pray and read the Word of God to know the will of God for your life.
