Read: 1 Peter 1:13-25
Apostle Peter exhorts believers on how they should live in holiness in order to please God. Christianity promotes Godliness through holy living and changes human beings from their natural state to what God made them to be. Therefore, believers are called to holy living irrespective of age, title, experience, job or area of service in the body of Christ.
More so, believers must have a clear testimony among the unbelievers. They must live as God's children. God is holy, so a person living in sin cannot belong to him. Many people think it is not possible to be holy but because God wants us to be holy, it is possible. Any genuine believer will strive to be holy and perfect before God. Our helper is the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ consciously intercedes for us. If there is anything that the church of God is careless about today, it is the issue of holy living. The old time religion is fading away. There are no longer clear differences between the believers and the unbelievers. Check your life. Are you living a holy life? Pray fervently for the Holy Spirit to help you live according to God's standard in holiness and purity all the days of your life.

This message reminded me of when i first gave my life to Christ. I would ponder the difference between a "moral" person and a christian. I really wanted people that met me to know that i was a follower of Jesus Christ, not just a "moral" person. I wanted and still want people to see Christ through me. This is most defiantly something that i am still working on.
What about you? Can people see Christ through you? Is your life different from Unbelievers?

CHISOM!!!!!! lol. I am so excited about this blog and you are ever representing the Lord Jesus. That is what God has been laying on my heart to. A new generation of righteous living. He has been asking me to spend quality time with Him...like there is something He wants to share with me. Something He wants me to experience. But Girl Holiness is the difference...Like how Jesus Lived...That's all i want right now.
ReplyDeleteAda my dear, congrats on being the first to comment on my blog. I have to agree, these days christianity has turned into an just an organization, where you attend meetings (church), pay dues (offering), and get to associate yourself with a group. Christ is bigger than that, but im afraid many "Christians" are content with being lukewarm. And you know what Christ says about lukewarm people!! I dont want to be like that. I am seriously working on spending time with God. I will soon do a piece on ways to spend time w/God.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is really good and i like it,most of us dont really know what christian means,it means christ-like and we actually believe is not possible to be like christ but Jesus came to this world in human nature like me and you and he never sin.if we are called by his name little christ [christian] we really need to sacrifies by living for him i.e a righteous life and others must see Christ through us and our life must be different from Unbelievers.
