Modern day Proverbs 31 Woman: Warrior Princess

What would a modern day Proverbs 31 women look and be like? Is it possible to be a proverbs 31 women? Do you know a Proverbs 31 women?

A wife of Noble character
I'm going to go through proverbs 31 in sections and give my thoughts on the modern version of those verses. Let me know if you agree or disagree. What do you think is the modern version of these verses?

10 [c] A wife of noble character who can find?
       She is worth far more than rubies.

 11 Her husband has full confidence in her
       and lacks nothing of value.

 12 She brings him good, not harm,
       all the days of her life.

 A women of God. Basically this women today would a trustworthy wife, a wife that will be there for her husband no matter what. She has no secret plans of her own or ulterior motive for marrying her husband . She is fully committed to her husband. She is his warrior princess.

13 She selects wool and flax
       and works with eager hands.

 14 She is like the merchant ships,
       bringing her food from afar.

 15 She gets up while it is still dark;
       she provides food for her family
       and portions for her servant girls.

She is not lazy, she is a very hard worker. You will be not find her sleeping in. She knows how to cook. Praise Jesus!!! And she is organized.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
       out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

 17 She sets about her work vigorously;
       her arms are strong for her tasks.

 18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
       and her lamp does not go out at night.

She is financially intelligent. She knows how to invest and handle money. She monitors her own investments, instead of giving that responsibility to someone else.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
       and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

 20 She opens her arms to the poor
       and extends her hands to the needy.

 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
       for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

 22 She makes coverings for her bed;
       she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

She knows how to work with her hands. She has a physical skill so that if she lost her office job today, the women would be sewing clothing, braiding hair, something. She has a back up plan.
She is giving. You may see her volunteering, donating time/money to help those in need. She is proactive instead of reactive. Oh and while she is doing all those things, she is also looking nice.

 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
       where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

 24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
       and supplies the merchants with sashes.

Behind every awesome man, is an awesome women. He can relax once in awhile because he knows his women can take care of things.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
       she can laugh at the days to come.

 26 She speaks with wisdom,
       and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

 27 She watches over the affairs of her household
       and does not eat the bread of idleness.

She is strong and wise. She speaks in love. She is alert and always looking for something to do.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
       her husband also, and he praises her:

 29 "Many women do noble things,
       but you surpass them all."

This women is beyond a stay-at-home momma. She does it all!!! effectively.  Her husband and children admire her, she is IT to them.

This women is perfect, and i pray that we, as women, strive to become more and more like her everyday. With God's help, we can!!!

  1. First, I like that you called her a warrior princess.

    "She monitors her own investments, instead of giving that responsibility to someone else." I am learning to be a manager of my own finances, it's a learning process...but this inspired me to be self-conscious about it.

    Amen to your prayer. Yes, we can do this :)
