A Shared Advantage

 Like 3:10-14

All humans have a shared responsibility of living right and doing what ought to be done. To do this, people must avoid dishonesty, self-centredness and greed. We should share what we have with those who do not have; be honest and fair in our vocations and be content with our earnings or incomes.
John's message demands some responses from us. He calls each of us to right living wherein we can affect our community positively and bring about expansion to God's kingdom. John was very frank and direct in his message. His message is still relevant to us and our generation.
What changes can you make in sharing what you have, doing your work honestly and diligently? Are you content with what you have?

  2. Thinking about you challenging question the first thought that came to my mind was 'the heart'. I pray for my heart everyday - 'create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer' Also I pray to guard my heart with all diligence. I really need to! We make the right and wrong decisions from the heart. We allow the right and wrong things to come out. It is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out. Even this morning, I was approached by a sales rep offering me nearly $200 to complete a survey. I just had to meet the initial criteria. It would have been easy to lie to do so. However, I quickly explained, I don't meet the criteria. The Lord knows I could do with $200, however, I only want it if He provides it.
Starting a relatively new business, I try to empower others in theirs in various ways. God has definitley called me to be a giver, however, I still have a lot of growing to do!
I will think and pray further on your important question.
    Thank you
